At Minnesota Canvas, we hit the ground running.
Unlike most other training programs, a new hire is paid from the start, at a rate higher than minimum wage in most US states. This is to ensure a greater rate of employee satisfaction. Here, we firmly believe in proper compensation and a positive work environment.
In order to keep only the highest quality people, all prospective candidates must undergo a two-day, three-part interview process. Despite these seemingly daunting procedures, we look for people with good communication skills, humility, and enthusiasm, over a bloated resume or a self-serving ego.
Finally, if you are selected for the position, you get to choose your start date. This is to give prospective employees time to prepare themselves for our fast-paced work environment.
Training
Our training program is carefully planned and regimented, in order to give everyone the best possible and most reliable support, so they can one day run their own office. In essence, this is a ten year sales training program squeezed into one year.
In order to put new hires on their best foot forward, their first day concerns only with the introductory paperwork in the morning. They get their contract, training handbook, and other resources, then the rest of the day to themselves, to learn at their own pace.
The following day, which is their proper first day, the new person will meet their leader (who conducted their second-round interview). This leader underwent the exact same program, and will serve as an indispensable guide to their progress. This first day, the new hire will be introduced to our systems, and will step onto the field for the first time. They will observe and learn throughout the day on how to make sales and succeed.
This continues through the second and third day, and by the end of their first week, a new person will be able to successfully make sales all by themself. Compared to most other sales positions, where upward movement is deliberated and slow, Minnesota Canvas trusts its employees with taking control of their own progress.
Progress
It is generally expected that, with our fast-paced training, a new employee will be promoted to leadership in 2-4 weeks. The leadership requirements are simple and replicable. In fact, they are the same for everyone else, without exception. This is so Minnesota Canvas can avoid favoritism and politics. Literally everyone gets the same chance.
After promotion to leadership, an employee must demonstrate their abilities beyond sales, in categories such as: general professionalism, great conversation skills, and building their own team. Once they have gone above and beyond everyone else in this regard, and hit their requirements, they are promoted to management, and will soon open their own office.
With a tried-and-true program like this, one’s path to success is practically guaranteed, as long as they take everything they’re taught seriously. At Minnesota Canvas, your background, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, or ethnicity don’t matter. All we need is your enthusiasm.
